It’s as adept in the mountains as it is on rolling hills. This Carbon Wheel Set features a 19mm internal width and is tubeless ready. That means you can run larger tyres with lower pressure for greater cornering grip and reduced rolling resistance without the risk of pinch flats. When it comes to pure speed, the Gran Fondo 4045 Rim Brake, Carbon Wheel Set packs a serious punch. It’s lightweight yet stiff design returns maximum value for your effort. The selected rim profiles help to achieve the optimisation of low aerodynamic drag and crosswind stability. The Grooved Graphene textured braking surface delivers unrivalled rim braking performance in wet or dry conditions and is manufactured with very high Tg carbon fibre resin, good for 250 degrees centigrade. At the centre of the Elite Gran Fondo Tubeless rim-brake is an Extralite hub set, hand made in Italy.

Technologies

Rim Brake – The Grooved Graphene high temperature brake track continues to evolve and improve , providing unmatched stopping power and modulation regardless of the weather conditions or length of the descent.

Hub Set – Extralite hub set hand made in Italy. The Cyber Front SP hub weighs only 48 grams and has a super wide flange spacing resulting the the highest possible lateral wheel stiffness. The Cyber Rear SP-T2 hub weighs only 130 grams and uses a triplet lacing pattern with 16 drive side spokes and 8 non-drive side spokes. Due to the dished geometry of the wheel this results in balanced spoke tensions. At Uccello, we have settled on the Hyper Ceramic bearing option as standard equipment. With Silicon Nitride bearings and super hardened Stainless 440c races these bearings roll incredibly smoothly. The corrosion resistance provides for long life season after season.

Spokes – Titanium spokes, forged and bladed for peak strength and aerodynamic performance. The Titanium material imparts exceptionally smooth ride qualities not found with other materials. The spokes are secured with internal alloy nipples for a clean appearance and ultimate aerodynamic performance.
